Born: Tredegar

" This small collection of watercolours represent fragments of ideas for sculpture and variations on non sculptural themes, Naive pieces, enjoying an experience by ignoring the expected. I am not suggesting that the flippant or comic is dominant and that the work ethic is rarely if ever considered, but certainly enjoying the act of performing as well as the performance is therapeutic and compensates for a number of false horizons.
I can't honestly say which language I'm going to use until after I start work. One procedure I use is to select a book of 20 to 50 pages of watercolour paper, mentally determine an objective, complete an image as speedily as possible - 10 or 20 minutes, turn the page and make another, same subject, same time scale and so on until the book is complete. Only then will I turn back the pages to reveal if there is a design metamorphosis of value."
