Architects win award

A firm of architects has won a prestigious award for it's work on an environmentally friendly discovery centre in West Wales. Loyn & Co was one of seven architects in Wales to pick up the RIBA (Royal Institute of British Architects) gong for architectural excellence. The company won thanks to its work on Margam Discovery Centre in Port Talbot. A sustainable educational, cultural and leisure facility in the listed historic landscape of Margam Park.
The building incorporates passive design strategies, biomass plant and water recycling. It also provides a base from which to explore the history, culture and ecology of the surrounding landscape.
Architect Chris Loyn, a member of Watercolour Society Wales said:
" We are thrilled to have won another RIBA award, this one for the Margam Discovery Centre in Margam Park".
